“Lend a Heart” Ministry Lends AMC Parishioners Greater Peace of Mind

A message from Rector Brad Clark:
There is an important area within our parish in need of our attention. When a member of our town is in need of help to replace a screen door, or fix a leaking toilet, or clean out a rain gutter, they are encouraged to contact the Rotary Club of Ipswich and ask for assistance from the “Lend a Hand” program. The request is shared among the club membership and in time some helpful Rotarian willing to lend a hand does so as a service to the community.

Within our community at AMC, there are a number of parishioners, especially those who live alone, who wonder who they could call if they needed help of a different kind. That is, who does one call when you wake up with a temperature and could use a hot bowl of soup? Who would you call if you have twisted your ankle and would like a ride to the doctor’s, but fear calling 911 and having three fire trucks, an ambulance, and two police cruisers lighting up the entire neighborhood from your front yard?

You need a trustworthy soul from the “Lend a Heart” ministry to lend you some kindness. I can think of a number of parishioners who would sleep much better at night knowing they could, without hesitation, call an understanding friend from AMC for needed assurance or assistance.

I have appointed the following fellow parishioners for their capacity to offer the sensitivity, compassion and unobtrusive bedside manner needed for this ministry: Jennifer Clark, Marge Brown, Cara Doran, and Penny Jones. If there are other AMC parishioners interested in this new ministry, please let me know!

Therefore, let it be resolved, beginning now, that you may call with confidence any one of these parishioners to lend you kindly assurance or assistance in a quiet, confidential way.  If one is unavailable to respond for some reason, do call the next person on the list.
Here are their contact numbers:
Jennifer Clark: 978-468-3077
Marge Brown: 978-356-4278
Cara Doran: 978-312-1252
Penny Jones: 978-312-1561
