The first session of this year’s Lenten Program was excellent in all the right ways: truly excellent soups by Janice S, Jennifer C, and Connie M, excellent presentation on “Honoring Vulnerability” as a key ingredient to an attractive, welcoming, growing community such as AMC, and excellent turn out, young and old with just enough spaces at the table for all the have a place and a voice. Next up, “Taking Risks” as our theme for Wednesday evening, March 4th, starting promptly at 6PM.
Each of these discussion topics are creatively chosen to encourage open, honest conversation about how we choose to “be church” now and into the future. AMC, as we like to say of late, has it going on, and there is a reason for that. These evenings teach us to appreciate what we have, to name it, and to build upon it. Come out to know and be known by your fellow parishioners. An enjoyable and enriching evening with friends new and old by which you can add to the present and future well-being of AMC.
Many parishioners have been asking when they will receive an official statement from the parish office documenting their tax-deductible AMC donation during the 2014 tax year to be used for their IRS reporting.
That official statement will be emailed out to all relevant parties no later than Wednesday, March 4.
The Wardens and Vestry appreciate your patience and understanding as the parish has been transitioning to a new accounting system. We are confident that all financial accounting and reporting at AMC, from this time forth, will more than meet the reasonable expectations of us all.
“Being Church: A Video Parable Study Series”

Soup and Bread Dinner included with program and served in St. Matthew’s Parlor. Participants are asked to volunteer (using sign-up sheets) to bring bread or soup. Being Church is a six-part video parable study series created by the Mission Institute in collaboration with the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. Christian congregations and communities can use the thought provoking, scripturally rooted content to deepen their journey into being Church. Being Church consists of six group spiritual exercises of approximately an hour each. Each segment incorporates prayer, reflection, and discussion and is designed to be self- led, inviting congregations and communities into a deeper understanding of their own particular gifts and challenges. Useful for retreats, study series, leadership training, visioning exercises, or Advent or Lenten reflections, the series re- energizes our collective journey of creating authentic, transformative faith communities today.
